Boalemo Regency, Kominfotik – Thousands of residents swarmed the subsidized low-price market organized by the Gorontalo Provincial Government at the Baiturrahmah Mosque grounds, Tilamuta District, Boalemo Regency, on Saturday (March 7, 2026). Public enthusiasm remained high despite the event taking place during Ramadan, as residents sought to secure various food commodities at more affordable prices.
The Vice Governor of Gorontalo, Idah Syahidah Rusli Habibie, who officiated the event, stated that the subsidized market is a continuation of the Gorontalo Provincial Government’s flagship programs established during previous leadership and sustained by Governor Gusnar Ismail alongside herself.
According to Idah, this initiative is a “pioneer” program for the provincial government due to its role in maintaining the stability of basic food prices and assisting in inflation control, particularly during the month of Ramadan leading up to Eid al-Fitr.
Vice Governor Idah also appreciated the immense enthusiasm of the Boalemo community, noting that the turnout was significantly higher compared to previous locations.
She added that this edition of the low-price market involved collaboration with various parties, including the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Gorontalo’s banking sector, and organizations such as PKK and Dharma Wanita. This collaboration presented a “Ramadan Bazaar” offering various basic food packages at accessible prices.

Through the Gorontalo Provincial Office of Cooperatives, MSMEs, Industry, and Trade, the government prepared 1,000 coupons for citizens to obtain subsidized basic food packages.
In addition to opening the event, Idah personally served citizens at the stalls. The province’s second-highest official was seen actively assisting residents who were crowded together, eager to be served.
At this market, residents could purchase a bundle of seven basic commodities for Rp95,000, significantly reduced from the normal price of Rp247,750—a subsidy of approximately 62%.
The provided commodities included:
5kg Rice: Rp25,000
Cooking Oil: Rp10,000 per liter
Bird’s Eye Chili: Rp10,000 per 0.25kg
Shallots: Rp10,000 per 0.5kg
Granulated Sugar: Rp10,000 per kg
Eggs: Rp10,000 per 10 pieces
Broiler Chicken: Rp20,000 per bird
During the event, award certificates were also presented to co-hosts and sponsors of the 2026 MUI Ramadan Fair. The certificate for the Gorontalo Provincial Government was received directly by the Vice Governor from the Chairman of the Gorontalo Provincial MUI.
